IMPACT Convention

All or nothing.

“This has to be the most impactful conference we’ve ever hosted, this is our last chance to get it right.”
This was the call to arms by our manager. “We have to give our guests the best conference experience of their lives.”

A new hat.

We had a small team at the time which meant that we all had to wear multiple hats. I considered myself quite lucky to have been asked to wear a Associate Creative Director’s hat. Between Motion Design and Creative Direction, I had a unique opportunity to really surprise and delight our conference guests.

First impressions.

I knew that if we wanted to wow the audience, we had to start off with a bang. I made sure that our opening video would be of the highest quality. We brought together a super team to ideate, conceptualize and produce an opening video that would literally set the stage for what would be a powerful conference. After many brainstorming sessions, c-suite pitches and feedback and finally production, we landed on something we knew would hit the audience hard.

The final countdown.

Our guests filled their seats in this historical theatre, the Bushnell, and they were already in awe of their environment. This coupled with the multiple screens on stage designed to deliver and delight. As we approached the start of the event, the clock ticks down and the audience roars in unison as together they count down the numbers on screen… “5! .. 4! .. 3! .. 2! ..” and then..

 

a new path has opened.

It wasn’t until I had the opportunity to help produce this event in a Creative Director role did I realize just how much I was built for this kind of work. From this point on, and in thanks to the overall huge success of the event, I was invited to participate in the planning and production of all the companies future events as a Creative Director.
